Remote PostgreSQL Server?

Hello, I wonder if it's possible to setup remote PostgreSQL Server in the same manner as we can do for MySQL? It's crucial to me to separate WHM server and database server (both, MySQL i PostgreSQL) - load generated by database server as we all know can be high and it can't affect main WHM server (in my case all hosts are VPS and I owned dedicated server). Any hints to accomplish this task? I've been searched many sites before posting this thread and found nothing (so maybe there is another common used attempt to effective installing WHM+databases?) but things related to MySQL.
