How do you change document root in cpanel?
Hi I am new to cPanel... I have made a few websites using different hosting platforms and with them I could direct the site to whatever folder it was in. I can't seem to find where I can change the doc root. I have a site that is currently live but friend wanted a new site so I made a new directory and made the new site there. now I want to change the root to point to the new folder/site but am stuck. Thought this would be a easy fix but I must be missing something.
So right now I have
OldSiteLIVE - (/home/public_html/folder)
This is not another domain its the same domain
anyhelp?

You can do it from the cpanel if it is addon domain. Go to addon domain section and in second column you have to update the document root path. If you are doing it for main domain then you have to manually edit your httpd.conf file from ssh. 0 -
So I'm looking for the httpd.conf file.. Is there anyone who knows the usual location of said file? Any steps or pointers? 0 -

Hello :) Your access level is listed as website owner, indicating you do not have root access to the server. You will need to have your web hosting provider assist you with changing the document root of the primary domain name associated with your account. Thank you.0 -
