Message during Backup
Hey All.
Is there anyway to force a message onto accounts/sites that are toggled for backups?
This has several advantages. The most important one being that while backups run databases must unfortunately be locked. This means dynamic software like say forum communities will throw many various errors to their thousands of members while the back up is in progress.
A dedicated page also means that people's pingdom and other monitoring tools won't freak out every time backups happen.
I've had done something similar to this before with scripts but that was before we migrated and started using WHM to better manage everything.

Are you experiencing issues while backups run, or are you assuming there will be? I've used cPanel Backups for years and hosted many forums, never had an issue like you mention.0 -

Yeah, we experiance this problem. Currently all the sites on the server throw errors when backups are happening. Its caused by the database locking during backups which is fine. I understand why locking is important. However there should be a way to insert a page/message while backups are running to accounts that are opted into backups on WHM.0 -
You might want to open a ticket to cPanel Technical Support about this. It shouldn't be happening. 0
