backup questions
Hi
I have 3 questions about the new style backups in the WHM
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
What time do the new backups start?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
At the end of the old style [cpbackup] incremental backup logs
it used to say the time and date completed
[cpbackup] Completed at Sat Nov 22 01:27:54 2014
The new [backup] incremental backup logs does not say this.
Is it supposed to or does this mean that it did not finish backing up?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
On my dedicated servers-
I get errors from the new [backup] backups.
I see the same errors whether I use the incremental, compressed or uncompressed backups.
The error does not occur in the backups on all sites -just some sites
Below is an example
USERNAME is substituted for the real username
DOMAIN.com is substituted for the real domain name
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thanks in advance for your help Audrey
* Failure dumping '/var/cpanel/bandwidth/USERNAME-imap.rrd'...discarding invalid /var/cpanel/bandwidth/USERNAME-imap.rrd dump file.

Hello :) 1. The backup cron job starts at 2AM by default, but you can modify this via: "WHM Home " Server Configuration " Configure cPanel Cron Jobs" 2. The information is provided in the output of the command. EX: # /usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup --force [2014-11-26 08:01:12 -0500] info [backup] Started at Wed Nov 26 08:01:12 2014 [2014-11-26 08:01:12 -0500] info [backup] Process started in background. [2014-11-26 08:01:12 -0500] info [backup] Log file: /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup/1417006872.log
However, you can also view the time stamp of the log itself. 3. It looks like invalid RRD files associated with the account. Were these accounts transferred or restored from another server? Thank you.0 -
Hi Michael Thanks for your help. Yes, these accounts have been transferred from cpanel servers many times (they have been clients for years and every time we upgrade servers) Happy Thanksgiving Take Care Audrey 0 -
You can move those bandwidth files out of the way so they are regenerated in the correct format. However, note that you will lose the existing bandwidth data for those accounts. Keep in mind the message you see is not fatal, and won't prevent the backup from occurring. Thank you. 0 -
Hi Michael Thanks for letting me know that these errors will not prevent the backup from running. I will just ignore these errors. Is there anything else that moving sites from other cpanel servers may be a problem for backing up now and restoring in the future and/or copying to another cpanel server if I scp using ssh? Thanks again Take Care Audrey 0 -
It's normal to restore account backups on remote servers, so you should not encounter any problems. Feel free to let us know if you require any additional assistance or notice further issues. Thank you. 0 -
Thank you Michael!! Happy Holidays Take Care Audrey 0
