Server host name and MX name

Hello, Is it wrong (or maybe just stupid) to have the same server host name as the MX host name, like: Server host name: mail.domain.com MX: mail.domain.com Are there negative consequences from this? Also, if server host name and MX should be different, which of them should rDNS Point to? Thanks Anders

  Hello :) It's acceptable to use the server's hostname as your MX entry. Just ensure that RDNS for your mail server IP points back to the hostname, and the hostname resolves to that IP. Thank you.
