DNS setup on old.website.com and website.com on same IP

Hi, On my server I have 2 accounts website.com & old.website.com but I have seen if I type old.website.com in my browser I get redirected to the website.com, how can I fix up the DNS record to point to old.website.com when I type old.website.com in the browser? or is it a better idea to get a separate IP for the old.website.com?   Hello :) You may also want to check to verify there are no .htaccess files within the account with rules that are redirecting requests to the original domain name. Thank you.
