Auto-responder "Email Address No Longer in Use"
I have cPanel X at InMotion. I seem to recall there used to be a quick and easy way to configure an email account to "auto-respond" that the email account is no longer active, for all incoming mail addressed to an obsolete email account. Am I right, and if so, does that method still exist? And if not, what is the easiest way to do that? Thank you.

In Paper Lantern, search for Forwarders, click result. Choose Destination: Discard and send an error to the sender (at SMTP time). Failure Message (seen by sender) 0 -
I do not know that I have "Paper Lantern". At Mail>>Forwarders, there are the list of forwarded email addresses with the choice to "Delete" or to "Add Forwarder". Clicking on Add Forwarder has a space to type in an email address, and then a box for an address to which to forward it. Is it in that box where I should place "Discard and send an error to the sender (at SMTP time). Failure Message (seen by sender)", including the parenthetical comments? And if so, is that all I need to do? Earlier, I failed to mention I am using a MacBook with ver 10.9.5. I have attached four JPG screen grabs of my cPanel version. Thank you for your help. 0 -
Your personal computer has nothing to do with this, but thanks for the additional Info. ;) Your Hosting Provider has you on an outdated, no longer supported theme, as shown in image #2 "cPanel X". You should contact them to be moved to Paper Lantern. Or at the very least, x3. 0 -
