Folder converted in file

Hello Few Weeks back I created folder at /root location and stored my some important data in it. Now when today I tried to access that folder, I am unable to. I notice that folder is showing as File.. Dont know how it got converted in file. Is there any way to restore my folder ? Thanks

  Hello :) What did you name the directory? You may want to review /root/.bash_history to see what commands may have been ran to modify the directory or it's contents. Thank you.
