How can I backup my complete server and all drives/files?

Hi there, Title explains it all. I do have WHM and cPanel,l but from the looks of it, it can only backup accounts of people. I want to go into a full backup including all configs, files, drives, etc.. a complete server image. Thanks! Mr D

  Hello, If you want your whole server backup with all files then I will suggest you please try with r1soft. R1soft will create your all partition image and you can restore your any single file through r1soft backup admin panel.

  Hello :) You are welcome to use any third-party backup solution if you prefer an alternative to the native backup options included with cPanel. Please keep in mind that no matter which solution you choose, restoring a server from directories/files is not supported. Instead, ensure you have cPanel-generated backup archives stored in addition to whatever files/directories you prefer to backup. Thank you.

  Would I be correct in thinking that WHM doesn't contain a method for backing up the entire server - all accounts and settings? I've put a whole lot of work into my server to get it running right - and I'm still not really certain how to retain and restore that information in the event of a serious disaster of crash.

  Accounts and settings can be backed up, you can read all about that in the docs: Backup Configuration - cPanel Documentation

  My ultimate solution was to deploy a secure FTP server and use the WHM backup utility to back up all of the accounts and server settings to an off-site machine over sftp. This machine happens to double as another NS server in the cluster. I guess it's the next best thing - seeing as how restoring an image of the server doesn't seem to really be widely available other the the facilities available from VPS providers and data centers. We'll always have to do another complete install of WHM and then restore the accounts and settings from our backups? Yes?

  Yes, you will need to install cPanel on the new server and restore the accounts/configuration settings in the event the primary server is rendered unusable. Thank you.

  I also would like to know the answer to the original question. I setup legacy backup to perform "Backup System Files". the generated archive is system_files.tar, it contains two folders "files" and "dirs" . However, there does not appear to be any information on how to restore these files

  Documentation on the system files that are backed up is available at: System Files Here is the relevant snippet: cPanel & WHM does not include an interface to restore system backup files. If you wish to restore content from system backup files, you must perform the restoration manually.
