VPS shared memory question
Hello,
I'm a newbie to this forum.
I'm hoping you can help me.
I have a website hosted on a managed VPS (CentOS).
Recently I ranthe free -t -m command which the following output:
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1024 895 128 2 0 601
-/+ buffers/cache: 294 729
Swap: 0 0 0
Total: 1024 895 128
My concern relates to the "shared 2". What does it mean ? Should I be concerned?
I can provide further details if necessary.
Also, should I install more memory?
Thank you for your help!!

Hello :) You can typically ignore the "Shared" memory column because it's obsolete. You may find the following thread helpful: Memory Usage Explained Thank you. 0 -
