Upgrade kernel 3.xx cPanel - Better performance?
Hi there.
I tried to find some post about this but no luck and is strange to no one ask for it before.
We know the CentOS is using kernel 2.xx, and now we have a lot of distros using 3.xx
I have found a lot of tutorials to upgrade your CentOS kernel 2.xx to 3.xx
If I do this, the server will get better performance or will still the same?
I'm asking for it because we have a Great Server, 32gb of ram, 4x SSD Disks in Raid-10, but if we put the same websites of this server in a basic server, 2gb of ram, normal hdd, the speed is the same.
The server never use all memory and never use the new hardware as I see.
But, If I put the same websites inside a debian server, wow, I see a great speed increase.
Can someone help-me with this doubt?
Thank you for help!

Edited to add more information:
This server is used only 2 websites.
We don't have any other customers having access to this server.
If there is some security options of that I can put off to increase performance, will be good for me.

Hello :) It's generally not advisable to upgrade to a kernel that's not natively included with CentOS to ensure stability. You could post to the CentOS forums if you want more input from their community on that topic. As far as server security, you can browse to the "Security Advisor" option in Web Host Manager if you are looking for a good place to start. It's documented here: Security Advisor Thank you. 0
