re: [Case 149949 ] cPanel & SSH stops while suspending an account Third server encountered this problem. So I am sure it is related to a cPanel bug :|

We have also faced this issue on our server, This also happens sometimes when I kill a user process via WHM process manager. THIS HALTS ALL PORTS ON SERVER INCLUDING EMAIL PORTS, SSH PORTS, WEBMAIL PORTS AND CPANEL/WHM LOGIN PORTS. But i am able to browse websites hosted on the server. It remains un-responsive till server is rebooted. if anyone found a way to get connected to server without rebooting it, plz share here. Thanks

I believe internal case number 149949 will address this issue, but could you provide us with the specific steps you take when this happens so we can attempt to reproduce the behavior? Thank you.

I faced this issue 3 times. there are no specific steps to reproduce this issue, But all 3 times there were few things common - 1 - I was going to suspend a cpanel user who was using excessive resource usage. 2 - Every time I was performing the action from WHM interface 3 - After clicking on the suspend button in WHM everything gets halted on my end, after server reboot I found that account was showed suspended but actually it was not locked and site was working normally. Even raise a ticket with cpanel for this, but support exec. was unable to find any clue from logs. Thanks

Hello, This is tentatively scheduled to be fixed in an update coming out on January 26th. This date may change however, but in the mean time the work around is to use WHM to suspend the account and not the command line tools
