cant increase size /tmp stays stuck at 512mb

trying to increase the size of my /tmp to 3gb but when i run the script and reboot it is still the same size as before. Help would be much appreciated

  Hello, Have you updated correct entry in /ect/fstab file ? Please check that and update correct entry in fstab file.
