New server install -> Applying privileges to user in cpanel doesn't update

Hi there, I have recently bought a dedicated server through FastHosts with WHM/Cpanel. After setting up, i have created a domain and begun by adding a MySQL database with username/password. When I link the domain to the user, and click apply all privileges, it successfully works. Now after inputting the details in my PHP script, I get a mysql connect error saying it can't connect. I've tried various different things but whilst snooping at the rootWHM phpmyadmin panel, under user i can see my username i set up and all the privileges are set to 'N'. No matter how many times i change it via cpanel, it still doesn't update. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it? Thanks

  Hello :) Have you verified that you are using the correct database name and username in the script configuration? Are you using "localhost" for the database host? Thank you.

  Hello :D Thank you for the reply. Yes, all was correct which is what is weird. Luckily, It was a new install with no data so I have reinstalled to see if it works now. I will update with the answer shortly :)
