cPanel/WHM migration to a new hardware
Greetings,
We are facing the following situation. We have a cPanel/WHM installation under VMware server. Since the hardware used and version of VMware has become obsolete we are thinking of moving the existing VM to VWmare ESXI.
The process that we are thinking of using is convert the old VM to the format that ESXI supports and then open it in ESXI. Public IP will remain the same.
As it is understood, we do not want to perform a clean installation and account migration since we do not want to perform all required configurations manually.
Does this process make sense to you, or you feel we should try a different approach.
Thanks!!!

Hello :) Could you elaborate on this process? Do any of the steps involve modifications to the individual VPS? Keep in mind that this may be a better question for your data center or to VMware, as it's not necessarily related to the cPanel/WHM software. Thank you.0 -
Hi, Apologies for the delayed response. Just to let you know that the process worked OK. We converted the virtual machine to VMware ESXi and moved it to a new hardware. The conversion process did not perform any modification to the original cPanel installation. Thanks 0 -
I am happy to see it worked out well. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
