Outbound SpamAssassin Scanning, Threshold?
What is a pretty safe level to set the outgoing spam scanning score.
Scan outgoing messages for spam and reject based on defined SpamAssassin score
I think by default it's set to 5 which is blocking some customers so I am trying 10.
Any advice will help.
Thank you,
Charles

Hello :) Are you attempting to block more messages (i.e. make SpamAssassin more aggressive), or do you want to allow more email to make it through? Thank you. 0 -
I'm seeing an issue with this as well. "Warning: "SpamAssassin as cpaneleximscanner detected OUTGOING smtp message as spam (5.9/50)" It seems to be flagging them at really high levels just for logging in from another server. We've tried it with just a basic message. It seems to automatically add to someones score if they log into the server through Gmail's "Send Mail As" feature which allows them to authenticate and use the outgoing SMTP. So far it is marking all of the mail from these users with 3.5 to 5.9 scores just for trying to send basic, normal mail. 0 -
More going through, some of the php scripts on the server had an issue sending email from the outgoing scanner. 0 -

I changed mine to 10 and the errors seem to be gone. This also might not be doing any filtering at this point and just wasting server resource.0 -
Feel free to open a support ticket so we can take a closer look if you want us to verify that SpamAssassin is behaving how it's intended to. You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0
