Hello :) It's likely you have firewall rules enabled that are blocking the passive FTP ports that are configured in:
    /etc/pure-ftpd.conf
Check to ensure the following line is not disabled in the above file:
    PassivePortRange 30000 35000
Then, ensure the above port range is not blocked in your firewall. Thank you.

Thanks, I had a feeling it may be something like that. Only problem is that the file doesn't exist. Only files in etc are cacheid and ftpquota, both empty. Many thanks Adrian

Your access level is listed as "Website Owner". Do you have "root" access to this server? If not, please consult with your web hosting provider so they can assist you with this issue. Thank you.

Hi, yes I am logged in as root and can see in WHM the ftp protocol I setup when setting up the server for the first time, Pure-FTPD. It is as if the configuration did not set up correctly. Many thanks Adrian

Since you have root access, you can access your server via SSH as root to edit the files referenced in the earlier post. Thank you.

Did you restart Pure-FTPd after making the changes? Ensure you follow the full instructions here: How to enable passive mode for FTP Thank you.
