Exim - relayed emails not using return path for bounces?
Our WHM server is used for relaying emails from a 3rd party, predominately bulk emails to association members (the 3rd party system can do it, but it has restrictions on the number sent among other things). When the emails are sent, the sender address is used in the return path header. However, if an email bounces, it is returned to the WHM server, not the return path address.
How do I configure WHM/Exim to send the bounce back to the 3rd party? The 3rd party system has a front end for the user to see and deal with the bounces - I do not want to give them access to a WHM system just to see them.

Hello :) Could you elaborate on the custom Exim configuration on your system? What specific entries or changes have you made to make the cPanel server act as the relay server? Thank you. 0 -

Nothing custom, stock config, the 3rd party app just uses a valid cpanel account to authenticate and send. Looking at the emails it sends, it has the return_path specified, nothing else to indicate it should be going back to the whm server. Do I need to set up an ACL rewrite rule to put errors_to in?0 -
Could you open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0
