2 Server for 1 Domain
Hello all
Case
1 Domain has 2 server
1 server running cpanel on Dedicated for Mobile and overseas user
1 server running on LAN (use MDaemon) for Local user to minimize traffic to the Internet
What we setup now is create a user/mailbox on both server
For local user we use fetchmail and multipop the email to the local server
And for overseas/mobile user on our local server, we forward it to Dedicated without leave a copy on local
Now i am thinking to NOT make a mailbox, just make a forward to subdomain
Dedicated hostname mail2.domain.com
Local hostname mail.domain.com aliases domain.com
On Dedicated i just create a forward email (no mailbox), sample
test@domain.com: test@mail.domain.com and this working properly
But on Local Server when i forward email to dedicated i got error, sample
dedicated@domain.com = dedicated@mail2.domain.com
Error/Bounce message:
dedicated@mail2.domain.com
No Such User Here
Where is the setup/config for my server to allow incoming email for mail2.domain.com is same a domain.com ?
Thanks
Nyoman

I got temporary solution Make a forward on email on Dedicated server dedicated@mail2.domain.com to dedicated@domain.com To make a faster way just edit /etc/valiases/mail2.domain.com If you all has another method whiteout adding the forward i will appreciate it Regards 0 -
Hello :) Have you considered simply updating the MX records for your domain names so that all email is handled on the remote mail server? Thank you. 0 -

Thanks for the reply Michael, Do you mean update the MX record for sub.domain.com ? I am no trying yet. It is possible just make a MX record on cpanel for sub domain and is the mailbox will be same as maindomain.com ? I mean if in my LOCAL server i forward to user@dedicated.domain.com is the email will delivered to user@domain.com mailbox ? Regards0 -
Got it, It is on cpanel, under Forward, you will see Add Domain Forwarder to setup this functions The files is created under /etc/vdomainaliases/sub.domain.com sub.domain.com : domain.com Nyoman 0 -
Yes, per our documentation, you can use domain forwarders to forward copies of all of the incoming mail for all of a domain's addresses to another domain. Domain forwarders override the default address for the forwarded domain. Domain Forwarders Thank you. 0
