WHM / Cpanel Update stomped on our server
I have WHM setup to do automatic updates, and this has worked fine for the past year or so without issues.
However yesterday I got a frantic call from my boss that his Joomla-based website was down. Upon checking I found that MySQL had somehow been stopped and not restarted properly - which was easy enough to fix with a manual restart. However it didn't explain why it had stopped in the first place.
Further checking reveals that certain other CPanel functions suddenly activated themselves, as evidenced by new users / groups being created in the logs.
However, and this is my biggest problem right now - I had a chroot jailed SFTP area setup for people to store data. And now for some reason the sftp subsystem doesn't want to start anymore.
Where exactly can I find the logs to determine what the hell the WHM automatic updates has done to my system, so I can try to reverse them. I'm turning off all auto-updating for now, as I can't afford the server getting stomped on at a whim due to poor Q/A on WHM / Cpanels part.

Could you elaborate further on this issue? What error message do you receive when attempting to start SSH(SFTP)? Thank you.0
