remote mysql
Hello,
After consulting with ticket support my i/o is high due to mysql. I want a different server with ssd instead of regular hdd and run my mysql database there. If this is in another country, would this affect performance or might ssd make up for this?

Hello :) The connection speed between the servers might have some effect on it's performance, but it's really difficult to know until you implement it. You may find the following document helpful: Setup Remote MySQL Server Thank you. 0 -
I will have a SSD added to my current machine, moving mysql there must be an improvent over the current HDD. Will cpanel be able to help me move it to a different drive in the same machine or is this the same as moving it to a remote location? 0 -
It's not supported, but you can find a user-submitted guide on how to complete that at: Move MySQL Data Directory Thank you. 0 -
Moving inside the server to ssd would be a huge improvement I hope? 0 -
It's possible, but we can't really predict how much of an improvement you will see. It's typically a good idea to consult with a qualified system administrator or a MySQL specialist if you want details on how much of an improvement you will see with your particular hardware and usage. Thank you. 0
