Emails stored in server are not deleted by Outlook 2010 POP3
One of my customers was using Outlook 2010 with POP3 and the leave messages on server option enabled.
As a result the mailbox uses to become full frequently and it took ages to download messages as it needed to verify which messages are already being read or not before downloading.
Due to this issue we changed the configuration to delete messages older than 30 days, however this seems to be not working as no message are being deleted. Is this a problem on the Outlook side or in the email server (CPanel) side?

Hello :) You will need to configure the email client for IMAP instead of POP3 if you want to utilize the "Trash Expire Time" that's available with Dovecot. Let us know if you experience the same issue with IMAP. Thank you. 0 -
I am not using the Trash Expire time. I am simply using POP3 on the email client as a way to keep a local copy of the messages and reduce the chance of having the server mailbox full. 0 -
You will need to contact Outlook's support team if you are deleting the messages through an option in Outlook, as that's not something managed by cPanel. Thank you. 0
