Sending email from .com domain through .net mail server using EXIM
Hi we would like to use our EXIM mail server at ourdomain.net to send messages from email addresses at ourdomain.com. I have tried to send messages through the .net mailserver but I received SMTP Auth errors, I guess because the sending server is expecting messages to originate at .net and not .com.
Can anybody give me some tips on how to configure EXIM to allow delivery of emails based on ourdomain.com?
Thanks for any pointers.

Hello, Can you please let us know what exact error are you getting ? 0 -
Hello :) Could you elaborate on why you are attempting to send email this way, and clarify how you are sending the messages? Thank you. 0 -
Hi thanks for the responses. Our website was hacked a few months ago and used to send a whole lot of spam before I cottoned on to what was happening. It has destroyed our .com domain's reputation and despite going through various processes to have it whitelisted with the major players, I am still having difficulty sending messages. I want to send mail through our .net domain instead, since that is a clean IP address, and receive through the primary .com one. Or can I simply change all my settings to send and receive through the new mail server on .net domain? In any case when I send messages from a .com email address using the .net server as the outgoing one, to a .com email address, I get: SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:: host mail.mydomain.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]: 550 smtp auth requried Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks! 0 -

The easier solution here is to simply change the IP address used to send email using the instructions at: How to Configure Exim's Outgoing IP Address Thank you.0
