S3 Backups (Not Amazon)
Hi All,
I'm just wondering if any of you have a backup solution on an S3 platform which is not Amazon S3...
I currently have 1TB of eCloud Vault storage sitting there and I really haven't a clue on how to utilize it if I'm honest. (I got it free)
I know that cPanel has the power of backups to the Amazon S3 service however, have any of you found a way to workaround this and get it working with an S3 platform not necessarily hosted with Amazon?
I welcome any suggestions/solutions!
All the best!
Peter

Hi Michael, It doesn't look like this solution would work without installing third party S3 software... Is there any sort of plans in the works to change the Amazon S3 backup solution to allow for other S3 platforms? For example, simply being able to set the URL of the bucket would probably work. There are no plans to expand the S3 backup offerings in the "Backup Configuration" area of Web Host Manager. Feel free to open a feature request for it via: Submit A Feature Request Thank you. 0 -
I will do shortly. Personally, I feel it is important to support other S3 platforms considering it is an expanding storage solution across many hosting providers. Thanks Michael. 0 -
Peter, While this is geared towards Liquid Web's Object Storage, it may provide a starting point for you. github.com/liquidweb/cPanelToObjectStore -Jason 0 -
