Domain as hostname

Hello, We always use cpanel hostname like host.domain.com and purchase ssl for it. Is it also possible we mae hostname domain.com and purchase ssl for it. Then if someone open cpanel or webmail he will be moved to /https://domain.com:2083

  The hostname cannot be just a domain name. If you make it just a domain name, it will break mail, among other things. The hostname must always be fully qualified. Stay with host.domain.tld; domain.tld will cause problems. Note that cPanel now supports SNI for the services in Home " Service Configuration " Manage Service SSL Certificates, if your operating system supports SNI (CentOS 5 does; CentOS 6 does not). That will allow you to install an SSL certificate for a domain on the cPanel service, without changing the hostname to just a domain and breaking mail.
