New Backup and Legacy Backup both enabled?
Is it safe to enable the new backup and legacy backup at the same time? They will use different folders on the same networked backup FTP.
If we do this, do they run one after the other (one will wait for the other to finish), or will the both run at the same time? If they run at the same time, could this cause any problems since they are packaging the same accounts etc?
(We have been having transport errors with the new backup system that cpanel support hasn't been able to resolve as yet, so we were forced to use the legacy system, however we don't want to miss out on storing 7 daily backups, so we want to enable both).
Thanks

You can set the times for both backup and legacy backup to run in the WebHost Manager, at Home " Server Configuration " Configure cPanel Cron Jobs. I recommend against running them both at the same time, because that will put more load on the server. It is best to stagger them, also to not configure either backup system to run at the same time as upcp, to avoid putting too much load on the server. 0 -
Great, thanks for that. I'll make sure I leave plenty of time between them. As a side note, has there been any more detail as to when legacy backups will be removed from cPanel? I know the documentation says there are plans to remove it. 0 -
At this time, there is no estimate for when legacy backup will be removed from the product. 0
