Rsync to server with Certificate

I have a client computer that needs to be able to rsync to my cPanel machine with a certificate rather than a user name and password. I would like this to happen for a specific existing user. Is there documentation on how to do this with cPanel. Thanks, Steve

  Can you please let me know which certificate you want to use with the SSL ? If you want to sync your files on daily basis then you will need to enable Shall access for cpanel users.

  I am not sure what you mean type of certificate. We have Shell access enabled but I need to gain shell access via certificate. So I need to install the certificate.

  Maybe I am not explaining well my problem. I have a certificate generated on the other server and I can produce the command for using the certificate. I am confused about the best way to install the certificate on the cPanel side so that the other server (not cPanel) can authenticate as the cPanel user. The main this is how to install the certificate for the user. Thanks, Steve

  You have to create the file via the command line and then modify the configuration file for the user or for "root" per the instructions in the answers from the URL referenced in my last reply. Thank you.

  Do you know where the settings file is. I do not have a settings file at /root/.ssh like the instructions imply I should. Thanks!

  Hello, It's a directory: /root/.ssh/ You have to create files within this directory if they do not yet exist. Thank you.

  If the remote user only needs access to an individual account, you can manage SSH keys through cPanel: "cPanel >> SSH/Shell Access >> Manage Keys" The description provided should help clarify this: Public and private keys are created together. Public keys reside on the remote server, while private keys reside on your local computer or server. When you attempt to log in to the remote server, SSH compares the public and private keys. If they match, SSH will allow you to log in. Download your public and private keys here to import them into PuTTY or other SSH clients. If you already use PuTTY, click Import Key to import the public and private keys.You can download your key in the PuTTY PPK format from the View or Download section. Thank you.
