rDNS
I have a client using their own mail server that is properly set up in the DNS as with an A name pointing to an IP supplied by their ISP. But they are complaining because they are having an MTA reputation issue because the rDNS doesn't match their domain like subdom.maindomain.com. It points back to the owner of the IP which is the ISP. They are wondering if there is a way as the DNS server I can set up rDNS for that IP to point to subdom.maindomain.com. Is this even feasible? If so, how?

No you can not set up a rDNS for an IP you do not control their ISP has to set this up 0 -
Thanks. This was my understanding as well. But I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything. Sometimes the DNS stuff makes my head spin. The client's tech person is trying to work with the ISP that owns the IP. 0
