I have been reading and working through this page to try and prevent so much spam reaching users:

  Hello, Per the option description, it requires incoming SMTP connections to send a HELO that does not match this server"s local domains. Enabling this option can help prevent spoofed emails from reaching your server, however it's possible that legitimate mail may not meet the requirement. You could enable it, and review /var/log/exim_mainlog to see how often messages are blocked to determine if it's worth keeping enabled. Thank you.
