You'll need to wait for the other side to re-attempt delivery.

Thanks, so i see one client has mails from the same email (trusted) but diferrent ip's like: 128.144.250.215 168.144.250.181 168.144.250.211 I need to add to the trusted hosts each one or adding: 168.144.250.0/24 do the trick? or is it 168.144.0.0/16 the one? thanks!

Hi, i just opted to turn on the greylisting option on WHM on my own dedicated server with the defaults, problem is, clients are calling they are not getting their emails so i looked at the REPORTS options inside the greylisting feature and there they are all of them i also made i test from an account @ mail.com and same happen it appears on the reports but is not delivered.

Hello, This is by design (it's how greylisting works). You can find documentation on this at:

Thanks a lot, ill leave it on for now since all my clients have notice a major improvement, and i guess ill watch the reports section and add to trusted hosts what i see as legit senders. BTW i leave this settings: Initial Deferral Period (in minutes) 3 minutes (because i dont want my clients wait 10 minutes for an urgen email) Resend Acceptance Period (in minutes) 1440 (a day) Record Expiration Time (in minutes) 43200 (1 month) Also, is there a way to add a domain not an ip to the trusted hosts? or to bypass the greylisting for a domain? thanks.

This is not possible, but feel free to open a feature request via: Submit A Feature Request Thank you.

The initial deferral period doesn't effect how long it will take for the message to arrive. It just states the minimum amount of time. The cPanel build that I'm using has a default of 15 minutes for resends (retries). So you can set 3 minutes, but it is going to be 15 minutes if my server is sending to you. Then only for the first message it sees, after that they don't get blocked at all.

Horrible decision not to allow blocked messages through. Some senders for some reason do not resend or resend from a different ip. I have lost many emails for clients because of this and now they are quite mad.

Greylisting is not enabled by default and is not required. It's documented at:

That's the point I am making, thus the reason I can't use it. If you only added the one feature that would allow me to monitor and whitelist on sight, it would be usable. Without it I will lose email from people who are legit, just with servers that don't retry.

Could you elaborate on the functionality you are seeking? For instance, is the WHM interface for Greylisting not suitable, or what's missing from it that would help? Thank you.

I assume nosajix wants us to have a way to instantly deliver blocked mails because the sender may not retry. This will require the server to store all greylisted messages which might take a lot of space.

One option could be to allow whitelisting an incoming email or domain regardless of the mail server sending it to more easily allow through senders who's email rotate through multiple mail servers that are included in their own or their provider's SPF records. I myself am not too concerned of mail servers that don't retry since I can't really think of why a legitimate mail server would not retry. Most issues seem to stem from the rotation issue I mentioned.

The best way to see a new feature implemented into cPanel is to open a feature request via: Submit A Feature Request Thank you.
