download locations for backups with ftp
I want to know where to find the backup location if I want to download the cpanel/whm backup with an ftp client.
Where are the backups located and how do I download them?
thanks.

I believe they should be stored in /home/$username/ Log in to FTP with your main cPanel credentials and you should be placed directly into that folder. 0 -

It depends on where you have your backups configured to be located, in your Backup Configuration Settings. Normally that location should not be accessible via an FTP client. There should never be a reason to login to your server as root, with FTP. Backups by the system are owned by root user. Preferably on a separate drive, and it's probably umount-ed when backups are complete, meaning you won't find backups on the system unless you mount the backup drive manually. The location LostNerd mentions is where you'll find a backup you can download using FTP when its created via: cPanel > Files > Backup > Download a Full Website Backup0 -

I assumed he was referring to to separate cPanel accounts. Simply because if you want to download system backups via FTP, it may be a lot easier to setup a remote FTP server and have cPanel send the file over :)0
