How can I add plugins to Roundcube?

Hello guys. I'm needing to add features to Roundcube, and as far as I can see, it only may be performed by using one or two of its free plugins. I see that I need to start installing its plugin manager: Have anybody from staff have any opinion about this? Can this pose any problem for future updates? If nobody have objections, what is the roundcube folder where these plugins should be copied in? Thanks in advance! :)
