WHM reports 1/2 the memory on the server

Several months ago our dedicated server was upgraded from 8GB to 16GB, but WHM reports that the server is still at 8GB in both the memory report and the apache report. When I log into the server's bios panel, the full amount of 8GB*2 is visible. Is there something we need to do so WHM can see the server's complete memory?

  does the server see it or is it just a WHM error #free -m

  The server's bios panel reports 16GB, however WHM and #free -m reports 8GB.

  Hello, Web Host Manager relies on the "free" command for the memory usage information, so this is an issue with your hardware or operating system. Please contact your data center or hosting provider for assistance if your system is not reflecting the correct amount of memory. Thank you.
