    Hello, Yes, you can simply pre-configure an advanced partition scheme (e.g. /var it's own drive if you want MySQL data stored on the SSD). Here's a document that explains the minimum disk space allotment for each partition:

    what kind of disk used on that example? / for system disk, wich is atm 32GB but should be enought? 31.5(gb?) /boot maybe for system disk aswell (500 mb?) /usr for hdd? 40GB? /var for ssd? 42GB ? /home hdd? 60GB ? /tmp ssd? 4GB? /swap ssd? 4GB? any logic in that ?:P

    Hello, I don't see an issue with you using your SSD for certain partitions in order to increase performance. The example is not designed to show the type of hard drive, but rather the minimum space requirements should you choose to use advanced partitioning. Thank you.

    is there basically any performance difference on other partitions than just /var if its in SSD? I mean does mounting usr tmp and swap to ssd make any difference ? anyone ? What partitions make performance difference ?

    What partitions make most difference in performance ? I think we can get with this a while before we really do separate mysql / mail / webserver setup. Currently its most efficient and cost effective for us to keep on the same server. I have now thoughts, should I keep them on same SAS disk, or make some partitions to SSD, or is this just one part that can go broken ?:)
