Proof Point RBL
I had a client's email compromised on Saturday. It happens, usually when they don't use stron passwords, but I suppose it could happen other ways. Anyway, after I saw all the spam being spewed through the server I changed the password and the spam stopped. I also deleted tons of spam waiting to go out. But the damage had been done and the IP got put on RBLs. It was removed from most of them within a couple hours and others in a day. A few I had to manually request removal and have been fairly successful, though Verizon says it could up to 72 hours!
However, one, Proof Point has not responded, nor removed the IP. I have made two requests. Apparently they are notorious for not removing IPs.
Anyway, I post this mostly just for information in case anyone else runs in to such an issue.
