Lots of Spam After Installing Dovecot & Exim

Hi all, Two days ago I went from all our emails being hosted on a separate email hosting package to hosting all of our emails on the VPS. I installed dovecot & exim via WHM and have mainly left all the settings as standard. I then created all the email addresses in Cpanel. Since then - I have noticed that there is a large increase in spam emails to the email addresses that have been recreated. Is there something that I have done wrong? Am I now exposing all these new email addresses to spammers somehow? Maybe I didn't configure something in dovecot / exim properly? Any help and advice would be highly appreciated!

  Have you checked mail logs from where that emails are coming ? May be some user is doing spamming from your server or any user is running mailing list. Also, configure exim using below link make sure you are enabling ACL, spam assassin and other rules.
