pureftpd has failed. Contact your system administrator if the service does not automagically recover.

What output do you get when you run the following:
    # service pure-ftpd restart

I already told you it results in the error I posted above

There is more info that should be printed when you run this command as root on your server; information that will help us narrow down the issue. Can you run the command above, and post the entire output here? Anything sensitive can be removed.

In your output, I do not see a failed attempt, however when you run that command, you do not see output like the following in the process list?
    # service pure-ftpd restart Stopping pure-config.pl: Stopping pure-authd: 1 process (pure-authd) sent signal 9 Starting pure-config.pl: Running: /usr/sbin/pure-ftpd -O clf:/var/log/xferlog --daemonize -A -c50 -B -C8 -D -E -fftp -H -I15 -lextauth:/var/run/ftpd.sock -L10000:8 -m4 -s -S21 -U133:022 -u100 -Oxferlog:/usr/local/apache/domlogs/ftpxferlog -k99 -Z -Y3 -JECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:DHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:DHE-DSS-AES128-GCM-SHA256:kEDH+AESGCM:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA256:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-SHA256:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-SHA:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA384:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-SHA384:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-SHA:DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA256:DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA:DHE-DSS-AES128-SHA256:DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA256:DHE-DSS-AES256-SHA:DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA:AES128-GCM-SHA256:AES256-GCM-SHA384:AES128-SHA256:AES256-SHA256:AES128-SHA:AES256-SHA:AES:CAMELLIA:DES-CBC3-SHA:!aNULL:!eNULL:!EXPORT:!DES:!RC4:!MD5:!PSK:!aECDH:!EDH-DSS-DES-CBC3-SHA:!EDH-RSA-DES-CBC3-SHA:!KRB5-DES-CBC3-SHA [ OK ] Starting pure-authd: # ps faux|grep [p]ure-ftpd root 6298 0.0 0.0 138636 1956 ? That example is from a test server running 11.50.0.12 If you do not see it in the process list, we will need for you to submit a ticket regarding this so we can see why this might be happening.

I gave you a copy and paste. It cuts off instead of restarting.

Thank you for the confirmation. To investigate this further, we will need you to submit a ticket, as this should not be happening, and we might be able to view more information with logs output.

Hello :) Do you notice any specific output to /var/log/messages when restarting FTP? Thank you.
