Getting an Error when trying to install MySql from cPanel
I am trying to simply install MySql using MySql Database Wizard in cPanel so that I can then install Joomla. But when I use the Wizard i get the following error:
Error while connecting to MySQL: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) Error while connecting to MySQL: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Mysql.pm line 164.
I am a total newbie to cPanel. Has this issue been solved aready? If so how?
Tanks!

Hello, What is your mysql services status ? And check your mysql services logs, Might be there is some issues with the mysql services and due to that you are getting this issues. 0 -
Thanks for the input. Now, I would love to check my MySql server status, but not sure how I do that considering I have never installed MySql...? Hum, is that something I can check in cPanel? 0 -
Hello :) Your access level indicates you only have cPanel access. Please report this issue to your web hosting provider if you do not have root access to the server. They will be able to address the issue. Thank you. 0 -
Just wanted to say that this issue has been resolved. One of two things solved this. One, this error somehow timed out and reset after a few days, or two (and more likely), I did contact my web host and tell them about this error. My web host did reply back to me saying that there was no longer an issue, but it was unclear if they resolved the error or it fixed itself. In any case, I'm onto learning Joomla! Thanks! 0 -
I am happy to see the issue is now resolved. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
