Change cPanel email directory
Hello,
Is there a way to modify cPanels default '/home/{account}/mail/{domain}/{user}' email directory?
I use dovecot as my mta and have tried making adjustments to the mail_location and location in the dovecot.conf file; this has no effect on new users created, they still go to the default.
Please note that I'm NOT trying to change the entire default home directory for users done under the 'Basic cPanel & WHM Setup' tab; Just the mail storage location.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello :) There's no native support to change the default email directory. Could you elaborate on why you need to make this change so we can offer some alternative solutions? Thank you. 0 -
I've actually been trying to use cpanel with s3fs for high latency object storage of emails. I've already mounted s3fs, and as stated before - configured dovecot to use that as the mail dir and see some action (some kind of cpanel imap service checks - login data left behind) on s3 but not the actual mailboxes. Ideally I wanted some native or add-on function like dovecot pro or otherwise to do this but can't seem to get that off the ground. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. 0 -
I'd recommend opening a feature request for this functionality, as it's not currently supported: Submit A Feature Request Thank you. 0
