BIND/NSD/MyDNS: which DNS engine do you use and why?

Configserver guys replaced BIND in my server MyDNS (I don"t know why) So I was wondering why they may have prefered it to BIND (the default). BTW when I tried to change it back to BIND all my domains stopped resolving

  Bind is the default choice. But it is resource intensive. But I am not sure about the exact reason for the change ;)

  I have noticed that named service stops frequently and don"t restart automatically even though I have the service monitor option enabled. root@s4 [~]# /etc/init.d/named status WARNING: key file (/etc/rndc.key) exists, but using default configuration file (/etc/rndc.conf) rndc: connect failed: 127.0.0.1#953: connection refused named is stopped root@s4 [~]# /etc/init.d/named restart Stopping named: [ OK ] Starting named:
