Question about MySQL warning in cPanel Docs
-
Quick update: Chatted with a CPanel tech and got some good information regarding my question. No specific problems with multiple web servers and on DB server. The main issue is to ensure the DB server is beefy enough to handle the load if hooking up multiple web servers. 0 -
Hello :) You may encounter some issues with shared database names. For instance, a recent issue brought up from a customer involves the update process invoking /scripts/horde_mysqltosqlite, causing the deletion of the horde database on the remote MySQL server. It's truly unsupported, meaning we don't plan for multiple cPanel servers sharing a remote MySQL server when developing features or addressing bugs. My personal opinion is that you should not utilize the same remote MySQL server for multiple cPanel servers unless you are comfortable with the potential for unforeseen issues. Thank you. 0
