Mod_Qos, Mod_Evasive - Mod_Ruid2

Hi, I want to avoid Dos attacks so I was thinking to install Mod_Evasive, but I was reading about its very old so I won't install it, so I was reading about install Mod_Qos + MPM Worker (Prefork can't be installed with Qos). Is it good choice? (Prefork is recommended) Too, I saw some post about mod_ruid2, is it recommended mod_Ruid2 + mod_qos? Should I remove option "MPM Prefork or MPM worker" if I take this option?
