Web Host AWOL
Hi guys. This is my first post. I'm not sure if I'm in an appropriate place but I am a little panicked right now and I'm very inexperienced when it comes to these matters.. The fact that the Hotmail address I originally tried to use to sign up to this forum seems to have been "banned by the administrator" has me further panicked.
I have a website I've been working on for about 10 years but now it seems to be down. It is a cPanel/Wordpress site and that's why I'm posting to this thread. I am not the host and I pay a guy to do this. I do not seem to be able to contact this host provider. His phone number is not in service and I'm not getting responses to my email.
Part of the service I've paid for is for him to back up my site. Until very recently I've been confused as to how Wordpress sites are backed up.
My problem is I fear the worst. I feel something has either happened to my webmaster or I will not be able to contact him again. Assuming that my content is still sitting somewhere on a cPanel server and realizing I am very inexperienced when it comes to the technicalities of hosting, etc, I'm wondering if someone might steer me in a direction where I can find info on how to possibly retrieve my data should I not be able to make contact with my hosting service?

Hello, If you have your cPanel login details then you can take a full account backup of your site through cPanel >> Files >> Backup >> Download full website backup and click on Generate Backup, Once backup is completed you will get notification email and then you can download your cPanel account backup file on your local PC 0 -
Hello :) You can use the backup options in cPanel to generate a backup of your account. I'd suggest searching for a new hosting provider if your existing provider is unreachable. It's likely a new hosting provider can assist you with the transfer of your account to one of their servers. Thank you. 0
