Illegal option index, referer in Logs

So, I checked my sites error logs and I saw this: /home/xxxxxx/public_html/.htaccess: Illegal option index, referer:

  Go to .htaccess in that website and remove the line that starting with "Options".

  Open the file, find the line that starts with "Options", remove it.

  Try renaming the htaccess file, add .txt to the end of the file name, to kill it, take it out of the equation. Does your site work then? Sounds like you've got some issues with whatever it is you're doing with the .htaccess file.
