Google unable to connect to cPanel using SMTP server

Hello, I'm trying to configure my gmail and cPanel accounts so that I can send mail through my SMTP server - that is send from gmail as if from my cPanel account. No matter what port I use or what level of connection (TLS, SSL, unsecured) I get this error message: "Authentication failed. Please check your username/password. [Server response: DNS Error: Address resolution of smtp.********.net. failed: Domain name not found code(0) ]" Note: I put in ***** in place of the domain name. Can anyone tell me what to do about this? Any thoughts would be very appreciated. Thank you! Rivka

  Hello :) Have you created an "A" record for "smtp.domain.com" in the DNS zone of the domain name? Typically, "mail.domain.com" is used because the "mail" record is created by default. Thank you.
