Dev can't connect using FTP account

I've created a username/password for my developer in order for him to access my files related to a website. But he says he is getting "access denied." We've checked and all the login info is correct. What could the problem be?

  You might ask your Hosting Provider to check his logs for clues.

  Can you paste the actual logs from the FTP client showing the message, feel free to replace username / ip info if its showing

  Hello :) Your access level is listed as "Website Owner", so I will assume you do not have root access. First, ensure the developer is using the full username (username@domain) and not just the username on it's own. Contact your provider if the issue persists because their IP address could be locked by cPHulk brute force detection. Thank you.
