Mail using SSL on GoDaddy
Hello,
I'm getting some trouble setting my mail client using the configs shown by cPanel.
Basically I have created some mailbox using cPanel of my VPS and I have tryed using the suggested configs. The first one (using SSL, the recomanded config) not works, the second one (NO SSL, not recomanded) works well.
NOT WORKS
Secure SSL/TLS Settings (Recommended)
Username: admin@mydomainxxx.com
Password: Use the email account"s password.
Incoming Server: ip-My-IP.secureserver.net
[LIST]
IMAP Port: 993
POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: ip-My-IP.secureserver.net
[LIST]
SMTP Port: 465
Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.
WORKS
Non-SSL Settings
(NOT Recommended)
Username: admin@mydomainxxx.com
Password: Use the email account"s password.
Incoming Server: mail.mydomainxxx.com
[LIST]
IMAP Port: 143
POP3 Port: 110
Outgoing Server: mail.mydomainxxx.com
[LIST]
SMTP Port: 25
Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.
I noticed:
the MX record it just one: host @ points to @
(sorry, the message was sent accidentally and i can't edit to add the last lines, so i type here...)
I noticed:
- the MX record it just one: host @ points to @
- the nameservers is ns3/ns4.domaincontrol.com
Have I to add new MX records to use the recomanded config ? Or have i to use a custom nameservers ?
Can you help me ?
thanks

Hello :) It looks like your mail server SSL certificate name may not resolve to your server. Have you considered updating the hostname to something such as "server.domain-you-own.com" via "WHM Home " Networking Setup " Change Hostname" and then updating the service SSL certificates via "WHM Home " Service Configuration " Manage Service SSL Certificates"? Or, do you prefer to use GoDaddy itself for email hosting? Thank you. 0
