ImageMagick install new errors

Can I ask the question the other way around then? How SHOULD we install Imagemagick in Easyapache 4? Because every suggestion I have seen fails for me. Clearly there is an issue. I am perfectly happy to use Skype share screens so that a tech person can gain a view of what I see.

I just read on another forum where someone recommended running /scripts/easyapache --build and check again after it completed. :)

That script just gives me an error message to say it is a deprecated script. No joy.

I think I have found out why. I built the profile in EA4 and the server appeared OK. But when I tried to install WordPress I got an error saying zip was missing from PHP. So I went back to check the profile and PHP now has no extensions installed. Moreover, when I try to build the profile again, there are NO extensions available, and none show on search!! I have reverted back to EA3 now, and all is well, all the PHP extensions are there and ImageMagick installs fine. This was a completely virgin server. I also did a forced re-install of cPanel 54, but still no joy. EA4 simply does not find any extensions any more. I would guess that it is completely borked up. I hope cPanel 56 fixes this, whenever it ships. I wonder if there is a way to recover those missing extensions en masse.

First, run the "yum update" command to ensure you are using the latest packages for EasyApache 4. Then, you can run:
    /scripts/installimagemagick
Please post the output in CODE tags if this command fails. Thank you.

mmmm. Thanks for the reply .... Let me see, a bit of sarcasm. Did I already try that? Yes (Yum said nothing to update). Did it the script fail? Yes. It said the script is deprecated. Even worse, all the PHP extensions disappeared from EA4. I have reverted back to EA3 (after deleting the lot and re-installing 3 times -this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a server). The descriptions by other staff that despite EA4 being beta it is very stable are, in my experience, not even close. Do I want to go through all that (a whole day with my server down) just to grab some error code? No. Count me out this time round. I will wait till EA4 becomes stable, maybe by cPanel 60? In the meantime, best of luck and wishes for the future and all that.

I'm unable to reproduce this on a test machine running EasyApache 4. It does show:
info [installimagemagick] scripts/installimagemagick is now deprecated. The ImageMagick from your distro will now be installed.
However, it then proceeds with the installation through YUM, and no PHP extensions are uninstalled (they are handled through YUM in EA4). If anyone else is experiencing this issue, and still uses EasyApache 4, please let me know and I can troubleshoot the issue further. Thank you.

What was the OS? Mine is RHEL Centos 7.2. I recall it said no package found or to install and no changes made to php.ini.

Here's the OS on the machine I test this:
cat /etc/redhat-release CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)
It is possible that you encountered the issue mentioned at: pear, pecl not working after EasyApach4 Thank you.
