Housekeeping - Updating CloudLinux
Hi
I use cloudlinux and regularly run the security advisor to see if easyapache or kernel updates are available, I then always update them if they are. I think, CloudLinux itself will get updated when I run the kernal update (yum update) and reboot, but should I also be running yum groupinstall alt-php at some point ? or does this happen when I run easyapache ?
Thanks
Daz

Hello :) You should be able to run "yum update" and see a list of all of the Cloud Linux packages available for updates. This is a separate process from EasyApache, which does not use RPMs for updates to Apache/PHP (As of EasyApache 3). Thank you. 0 -
Thanks for clearing that up. I did a yum update which updated the kernel and a couple of other dependencies, then after reboot I did another yum update which then updated 124 alt-php packages, so I'm good to go. I'll just routinely do a yum update whenever I see fit. Thanks Daz 0 -
I'm happy to see the update completed successfully. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0 -
Does this mean CloudLinux's packages (alt-php, etc.) won't be updated automatically even if cPanel's automatic daily updates are on? 0 -

You can enable "Operating System Package Updates" via "WHM >> Update Preferences" to ensure your OS packages are updated. This is similar to the "yum update" command. Thank you.0
