SENT, TRASH and DRAFTS - They Don't Go Away
I know that this has been addressed as it is expected behaviour, but I would like an explanation as to why it has been set this way.
The SENT, TRASH and DRAFTS folders are being auto-created and auto-subscribed at every IMAP logon. You can go in, unsubscribe and delete them and boom, the next logon and they are back.
As this was a recent change, there seems to be a fair number of people who are questioning it and the common response is "expected".
Can somebody please explain why this would be recommended or a good procedure - especially in a shared environment like CPANEL supports?

Hello :) Dovecot and Courier were not configured to inform email clients the names of the special IMAP folders (Trash, Junk, Sent, Archive) prior to cPanel version 11.48. This resulted in email clients automatically choosing the name of those special folders. I suggest opening a feature request for the ability to delete those folders or modify their location if you want to see a change to this behavior: Submit a Feature Request Thank you. 0 -
Why is this behaviour suggested for every logon and the creation of the folders and the auto-subscription at every logon? It is mind boggling that a restrictive behaviour that prevents people from choosing their own direction, even after a default behaviour is executed is BLOCKED. Can you explain what the justification for this was as the feature requests have been submitted and so far, seem to have been rejected by the same people who are saying this is the way it is. 0 -

It's to ensure that email clients automatically choose the correct name of those special folders. Could you let us know the URL of a feature request that's been rejected or submitted without approval? Thank you.0
